Thats like an artists that create art for the love of art that wants you to buy his latest work. Doubletwist will be on my list of apps to try when I have time, but iTunes is the *only* thing that shipped with my computer that I want to be rid of.īiggstuu said: Isnt it funny, that a guy known for reverse engineering other people's work for his own needs since he felt it should be free/do what he wants it to do, is now trying to make money. I've tried Songbird recently and was left unimpressed when I couldn't view my album art without crashing the app. Granted, I have an 18,500+ song library and a few hundred videos - but why should my system grind to a halt if I want a little background music? Without a doubt, iTunes is the worst most bloated piece of crap Apple has ever produced. To make a comparison of a program being slow compared to a fully native app that beach-balls on me every time I open it is practically comical.

It is the *only* program on my machine that is just as slow as it used to be, and now that the rest of the system is a little snappier it feels like it has degraded.
Double twist for mac install#
I just did a fresh install of 10.6 and have been quite happy with the speed boost - except for iTunes. I haven't tried doubletwist yet, but I am absolutely dying to get rid of iTunes. I've read Ars for years and this is the first time I've been compelled to post.
